Do Quests!
Some people believe that taking quests while powerleveling is a waste of time. This is really untrue! You do need to take certain quests however. You will be getting xp just for killing the creatures (and while you're there you may grind for a while) and you'll get a lot more xp when you hand in the quest. Moreover, any quests which are traveling quests when you're already headed that way. Don't take any quest that does not give xp. That will waste your time, your goal is to get as much xp as fast as you can.

Although this will look like a waste of time to some of you, one of the best things you can do to speed up your powerleveling is to research talent trees. It sounds so boring! But it's really not. Find some WOW forum boards and you will be sure to find discussions about talent points.
