Shattered A Car Window? Auto Window Repair, Quick And Easy
So, it is the freezing outside and you've just found your car with a shattered window-what on earth do you do? You can't just leave it like that-it's freezing outside! However auto window repair is so expensive.... can you do it yourself?
Actually, yes, you can do it yourself, and it does not need to be that hard. Many people will take their vehicles to a repair shop after this happens, just because they believe that they cannot fix it. Well, as long as you are a little bit handy, and comfortable with taking things apart (don't fret, you will have instructions to put it back together!), then you can definitely try car window repair yourself.
All it takes is some tools that you can locate easily laying around your home- screwdrivers, masking tape, a painter's cloth, etc. And some determination. This could be frightening, but you could do it. There are only a few things that may go wrong.
One thing that can go badly with a vehicle window repair is that you break additional glass and harm yourself. This can easily be prevented. Ensure you work over an area that isn't really hard (so, don't work over your garage's concrete floor, instead perhaps the grass outside) and wear thick leather gloves.
Another thing which could go wrong is that you break the new window. I've done this-not fun. You just spent money on that and that is what you break! Be very careful with the new window. It may be made out of auto glass, but it is still glass! Once again, make sure to work over a softer area. Put the glass down as softly as possible.
