The Most Recent In Carbide Endmill Architectures In A Extensive And Effective Line From Iscar
Manufacturers and die & mold shops can eliminate chatter problems in many milling operations with Iscar's completely new Chatterfree carbide endmill. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the principal source of chatter. This empowers faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling. In addition, customers also report lengthened edge life due to reduced chatter. The chatter-free element is presented in both solid carbide endmills and tips in Iscar's MULTI-MASTER replaceable-tip line. Diameter range is 6 to 20mm for the solid carbide endmills, and 8 to 20mm for MULTI-MASTER tips. These new endmills are excellent for low power machines with ISO40 or BT40 adaptations. The solid carbide variant can manage full slot machining up to 2xD. Depth capability on the replaceable-tip variant is more restricted since the active length is shorter. In full slotting functions on alloy steel, the solid carbide version easily handles 0.03-0.05 feed rates at 180-220mm/min surface speed and 2xD depth of cut.
FINISHRED - Revolutionary Solid Carbide Endmills
Iscar is introducing the EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. Finishred a unprecedented solid carbide endmill family. The Finishred carbide endmill is a combination of both roughing and finishing endmills in a single tool. Roughing endmills remove material from work pieces more swiftly and effectively than ordinary endmills. Nonetheless, roughing endmills leave grooves on the machined surface. Accordingly, after using a roughing endmill, a finishing endmill has to be used in order to obtain a smooth surface finish. This means time-consuming tool change, setup time and necessity of maintaining two endmill types in the stock.
Features of the Finishred Endmills:
The EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. endmills feature four flutes with 45 degree helix, two serrated flutes and two continuous flutes.
The cutting edges of the finishing flutes are radially farther from the tool axis than the cutting edges of the serrated flutes. The finishing flutes remove the grooves caused by the roughing flutes, leaving a smooth surface finish.
The tool is fully effective and enables running at rough machining parameters, resulting in finish surface quality.
The distinctive tool design reduces vibration at high load applications.
The tool creates short and long chips simultaneously. This chip mixture is evacuated more readily than each individual chip type, an brilliant solution in slotting and cavity milling applications.
The Finishred is also presented with the Multi-Master indexable milling head option which merges the Finishred features with the advantage of little setup time, no regrinding costs and the extensive range of shank and extension options are available for the Multi-Master milling heads.
A single tool substitutes the roughing and finishing endmills; therefore lowering stock.
Tool change and setup time can be disregarded.
An extra tool position is accomplished on the machine
New Chip Splitting Solid Carbide Endmills for increased Metal Removal Rates
ISCAR is introducing the ECP-3/4L family of chip splitting endmills. The new endmills are available with three and four 38 degree flutes in grade IC900. They feature 2xD and long shanks with diminished neck diameter, which enable machining along high shoulders, at high feeds. These endmills, due to their chip splitting element and force distribution can be used very effectually on low power machines (CAT40/BT40/ISO40). The serrated cutting edge features flat peaks which leave a better surface finish, in comparison to the current rougher carbide endmill. The ECP endmills are recommended for machining austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, at up to 2xD depth of cut. They can be used on alloyed steel as well. All of the introductory tests conducted at various customers' locations showed extraordinary results.

Iscar Recently Releases A Variety Of Revolutionary Lines To Enlarge Their Family Of Milling Cutters
Iscar recently released a new family of High Speed Milling adjustable endmills and facemills that will improve milling of aluminum, non-metallics, cast iron and hardened steel. This should prove especially useful in the automotive and aerospace industries.
A Number Of Improvements Have Enhanced Iscar's Families Of Indexable Endmills For Heightened Productivity
Helido-Upfeed 04 Two years ago Iscar introduced the extremely efficient H600 indexable endmill line, based on conceptually new Helido-Upfeed double sided inserts with 6 cutting edges. The first insert launched was the H600 WXCU 0806..., which was designed for milling cutters in the diameter range of 50 to 125 mm.
Some Of The Countless Advancements In Carbide Inserts From Iscar Over The Last Decade
Iscar is introducing a new unique milling system with tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has significant advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, reduced cutting forces resulting in higher performance.
